Contemporary Multi-Space Renovation by Nestovate

Bathroom, Laundry Conversion & Powder Room Renovation

Nestovate completed a comprehensive wet-area transformation, upgrading the ensuite, converting a laundry into a full bathroom, and renovating the powder room into cohesive, modern spaces designed for comfort, functionality, and long-term durability. The project focused on intelligent layout redesign, improved spatial efficiency, and premium finishes to create visually connected bathrooms that elevate everyday living.

The Challenge

The existing wet areas were dated, inefficient, and visually heavy, with fixtures positioned in ways that limited movement and reduced usable space. The ensuite’s original layout contained a bathtub, shower, and toilet arrangement that did not optimise flow, while the laundry lacked practicality and occupied valuable space that could be better utilised. The powder room also required a modern upgrade to match the rest of the home. The client wanted all spaces redesigned to feel contemporary, spacious, and refined while maintaining practical usability and cohesive styling throughout.

The Solution

Ensuite Bathroom (Jack and Jill Layout): The dual-access ensuite was completely reconfigured to improve zoning and movement. The original shower, toilet, and bathtub were removed, and the former toilet area was repurposed into a functional laundry section. The shower was expanded to 1200 by 900 millimetres and fitted with a sliding door and a 100 millimetre shower screen for a sleek, space-efficient finish. A recessed niche measuring 300 by 400 millimetres was added for integrated storage. A new tornado flush toilet was installed in the previous bathtub position to optimise layout efficiency. The space was completed with a 1200 vanity with a stone top and a round basin with all bathroom fixtures in black matte, with a 1200 shaving cabinet, floor, and walls up to ceiling tiles of size 600 by 600 grey porcelain, creating a clean and cohesive contemporary aesthetic.

Powder Room:  The powder room was redesigned to provide a refined, minimalist look while improving durability and ease of maintenance. Floor tiles and half-height wall tiles in 600 by 600 grey porcelain established a consistent visual language. Matte black fittings were selected to introduce contrast and definition, paired with a sleek tornado flush back-to-wall toilet that maximises usable space while enhancing hygiene and performance.

Laundry Converted to Bathroom:  The existing laundry was fully transformed into a functional bathroom by removing all cabinetry and redesigning the layout. A generous 1200 by 1000 millimetre shower with a sliding door and 100 millimetre shower screen was installed, along with a recessed niche measuring 300 by 400 millimetres for practical storage. Because of the increased shower footprint, a new barn door entry system was introduced to maintain comfortable circulation and clearance. The room was finished with a 1200 vanity with a stone top and a round basin with all bathroom fixtures in black matte, with a 1200 shaving cabinet, floor and walls up to ceiling tiles of size 600 by 600 grey porcelain, ensuring a unified design language across all renovated areas.

The Outcome

The completed renovation delivered three distinct yet visually connected wet areas that combine contemporary design with everyday functionality. Strategic layout changes, premium materials, and precise installation transformed previously inefficient spaces into refined, practical environments. Each room now feels brighter, more spacious, and better suited to modern living, while the cohesive material palette enhances overall property value and design continuity.

Before & After

Laundry Converted to Bathroom

The former laundry was fully transformed into a functional bathroom by removing all existing cabinetry and reworking the layout. A spacious 1200 × 1000 mm shower with a sliding door and a 10 mm shower screen was installed, along with a 300 × 400 mm recessed niche for integrated storage. Due to the increased shower footprint, a new barn-door entry system was introduced to maintain clearances and usability. The room was completed with a 1200 mm vanity with a stone top and a round basin, all bathroom fixtures in black matte, a 1200 mm shaving cabinet, grey porcelain floor, and walls up to ceiling tiles of size 600 × 600 mm, ensuring consistency with the overall renovation design language.

Ensuite Bathroom (Jack & Jill Layout)

The existing ensuite with dual access doors was completely reconfigured to improve functionality and spatial efficiency. The original shower, toilet, and bathtub were removed, and a new tornado-flush toilet was installed in the former bathtub location to optimize circulation. The space was finished with a 1200 mm vanity with a stone top and a round basin with all bathroom fixtures as black matte, with a 1200 shaving cabinet, floor and walls up to ceiling tiles of size 600 × 600 mm grey porcelain, creating a cohesive, contemporary aesthetic.

The Big Shower

The former toilet zone was repurposed into a dedicated laundry section, allowing better zoning of wet and dry areas. The shower footprint was expanded to 1200 × 900 mm and fitted with a sliding door and a 10 mm shower screen for a streamlined appearance. A 300 × 400 mm recessed niche was integrated for practical storage.
