Smart Laundry Transformation  ​

Nestovate recently completed a sophisticated laundry renovation that transformed an outdated utility space into a streamlined, modern, and highly functional family laundry. The project focused on improving spatial efficiency, upgrading finishes, and integrating concealed services while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic.


The Challenge

The original laundry featured a bulky traditional trough, exposed plumbing connections, and an inefficient layout that restricted usability. The client wanted a modernised design that would:

  • Improve workflow and accessibility
  • Provide additional storage
  • Create a cleaner visual appearance
  • Incorporate durable, easy-maintenance materials
  • Seamlessly accommodate their washing machine within cabinetry

The Solution

Nestovate reconfigured both the services and layout to maximise functionality and aesthetics:

  • Plumbing Reconfiguration: Existing plumbing points were relocated from the wall and concealed within the new custom-built cabinetry, delivering a clean and uncluttered finish.
  • Custom Joiner Installation: The old cabinet was removed and replaced with a custom Polytec laundry cabinet, precision-built to house services internally while allowing full operational clearance for appliances.
  • Benchtop Upgrade: A new benchtop was installed and colour-matched to the selected grey tiles, creating visual cohesion throughout the space.
  • Tile Integration: Matching grey tiles were used consistently across:
    • Floor finish
    • Splashback surface
    • Tiled skirting
    This continuous material palette provides durability, easy cleaning, and a seamless architectural appearance.

The Outcome

The finished laundry now delivers both style and performance. Concealed plumbing, integrated joinery, and coordinated finishes create a polished modern environment that feels larger, brighter, and more organised. The space is now:

  • Highly functional for daily family use
  • Visually streamlined and clutter-free
  • Durable and low-maintenance
  • Architecturally cohesive in design

The before image shows an outdated laundry with a bulky trough, exposed wall plumbing, and worn cabinetry that made the space feel cramped and inefficient, while the after image reveals a complete transformation with sleek custom Polytec cabinetry concealing all plumbing internally, a new benchtop coordinated with modern grey tiles, and matching tiles used across the floor, splashback, and skirting to create a clean, seamless, and contemporary laundry that is both highly functional and visually refined.
