Smart Laundry Transformation

Nestovate recently completed a functional and stylish laundry renovation designed to maximise usability while introducing modern finishes. The project focused on transforming an outdated laundry into a multi-purpose space tailored to the client’s family needs, combining practicality, durability, and contemporary aesthetics.

The Challenge

The existing laundry featured a traditional, bulky laundry sink and an inefficient layout that limited usable space. The client wanted a more functional arrangement that could accommodate their washing machine comfortably while also adding a vanity for their children. The goal was to create a clean, modern environment without compromising storage or workflow.

The Solution

Nestovate re-engineered the layout to optimise every millimetre of available space:

  • Removed the old-style laundry trough and plumbing fixtures.
  • Installed a custom-designed 780 mm Polytec vanity cabinet with soft-close doors for durability and smooth operation with a ceramic basin.
  • Designed the joinery to allow proper clearance and service connections for the washing machine.
  • Installed 600 × 600 mm floor tiles with matching tiled skirting for a seamless, easy-to-clean finish.
  • Fitted a shaving cabinet for additional storage and convenience.
  • Created a coordinated splashback using the same floor tiles to maintain visual consistency.
  • Completed full repainting of walls, ceiling, door, window, and architraves to deliver a crisp, refreshed look.

The Outcome

The upgraded laundry is now a versatile, family-friendly space that balances style with practicality. The custom vanity and improved layout enhanced storage and usability, while the large-format tiles and fresh paint brightened the room and created a cohesive modern finish. The client now has a highly functional laundry that serves both daily household tasks and their children’s needs.

Before & After

Before the renovation, the laundry had an outdated layout with plumbing on the adjacent wall, a GPO near the window with exposed cables, an old bulky laundry sink, timber skirting boards, worn tile flooring, and pink walls that made the space feel dated. After the upgrade, the room was redesigned with a custom 780 mm vanity, new plumbing concealed inside the cabinet for the washing machine, and a new internal GPO to hide all pipes and wiring; the old flooring was replaced with Calacatta White 600×600 porcelain tiles with matching tiled skirting, and the entire space including ceiling, cornices, doors, architraves, and window was repainted in crisp white, resulting in a clean, modern, and highly functional laundry.
