At Nestovate, we specialise in turning everyday kitchens into refined, high-functioning spaces that balance elegance with practicality. This project involved a complete kitchen redesign where we re-engineered the layout to create a more efficient workflow, increased storage capacity, and a premium visual finish that elevates the entire living area.


The Challenge

The existing kitchen lacked functionality, storage efficiency, and visual impact. The layout restricted movement, appliance placement was impractical, and the cabinetry did not maximise usable space. The client wanted a modern kitchen that felt luxurious yet highly practical for daily cooking, entertaining, and appliance use — without compromising on storage or accessibility.


The Solution

Nestovate redesigned the kitchen from the ground up, introducing a carefully planned layout supported by custom cabinetry, upgraded services, and premium finishes.

A statement 2400 × 1200 mm island became the focal point of the kitchen, designed for both functionality and sophistication. One side features push-to-open cabinets for a seamless look, while the opposite side incorporates soft-close pull-out wire basket drawers and an integrated pull-out bin system for efficient storage. The island is finished with a 40 mm Calacatta Gold Vein stone benchtop and waterfall panels on both sides, adding visual weight and a luxurious finish.

To enhance usability, we installed a heavy-duty appliance pantry system with reinforced pull-out racks capable of holding large appliances. A concealed GPO inside allows appliances to be used directly from the pull-out shelf — simply open, slide, and operate.

Additional upgrades included:

  • 900 mm cooktop with oven below
  • Provision for dishwasher installation
  • Integrated water filtration system
  • Finger-pull, soft-close overhead cabinetry
  • Over-fridge storage cabinet
  • Open shelving near the window for visual lightness
  • Glass display cabinet with internal LED strip lighting designed as a bar feature

Material selections were carefully curated for harmony and contrast. Cabinetry combines Sand Barbera Oak tones with Verde Mint super-matt base units, paired with grey 600 × 600 splashback tiles for a balanced, contemporary palette.

The renovation also required structural and service modifications:

  • Existing flooring waswas removed and replaced with new 7mm hybrid flooring throughout the kitchen zone
  • Gas point relocated through plumbing alterations
  • New downlights installed for consistent brightness
  • Feature pendant lighting positioned above the island


The Outcome

The completed kitchen is a refined, functional showpiece that seamlessly blends luxury finishes with intelligent design. The expansive island anchors the space, while integrated storage solutions ensure everything has a dedicated place. Warm timber textures, soft matte cabinetry, and premium stone surfaces create a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere.

The new layout is anchored by a massive waterfall stone island, which cleverly conceals cable rack cabinetry to keep the tech-heavy modern lifestyle clutter-free. Storage was a primary focus, featuring push-pull doors for a handleless minimalist look and a dedicated pantry cupboard equipped with heavy-duty pull-out shelves for effortless access to heavy appliances. From the sleek 600 × 600 grey tiled splashback to the integrated water filtration system, every detail has been engineered to elevate daily living. The final touch? A feature glass bar cabinet with internal LED lighting that transforms the kitchen into an entertainer's dream after dark.

The Layout change

This kitchen transformation reimagines a dated, fragmented layout into a seamless architectural statement by balancing the organic warmth of Sand Barbera Oak with the sophisticated, muted tones of Verde Mint super-matt base units. The renovation features a complete relocation of the cooktop to a more ergonomic 900 mm chef’s station and the introduction of a striking waterfall island equipped with concealed cable rack cabinetry for a clutter-free workspace. High-performance upgrades include a 600 × 600 grey tiled splashback, integrated water filtration, and a custom cupboard featuring heavy-duty pull-out shelves for effortless access to premium appliances. Every detail is optimized for a modern lifestyle, from the minimalist push-pull and soft-close doors to the precision-placed new downlights and a feature glass bar cabinet with internal LED lighting that anchors the room with a luxury glow.
